MortgageFlex Embeds InRule®
For Enhanced Decisioning Logic in LoanQuest .NET
Robust Rule Engine Increases Transparency of Applications
Jacksonville,
Fla. (3/5/08) – MortgageFlex Systems has embedded dynamic decisioning logic
created by InRule Technology® Inc. in its newest version of the LoanQuest.NET
lending product suite, scheduled for release in June, which utilizes Service Oriented Architecture
(SOA) and Microsoft’s® .NET 3.5 Framework.
According
to Craig Bechtle, senior vice-president, MortgageFlex, “The embedded rule
engine provides extensive customization capabilities. Lenders and servicers
using MortgageFlex technology will be able to add features and components on
their own, with no need for third-party customization.”
Business
rule engines (BRE) provide a window into the logic of an application, allowing
organizations to adapt quickly to changing market conditions. A BRE also provides a built-in audit trail of
decisions for reporting purposes.
InRule was
selected as LoanQuest’s Business Rule Engine “based on its .NET specific
architecture, strong product capabilities and the confidence we developed in
their management and professional staff,” said MortgageFlex President, Lester
Dominick.
Several
competitive products were evaluated he noted, “before
we selected InRule. We threw some of our most difficult challenges at them and
jointly built and tested prototypes. The
results more than met our expectations.”
Dominick acknowledged
InRule’s “great references, excellent authoring tools and system development
kit. irSDK allows
the integration between LoanQuest and the BRE to be transparent,” he noted. InRule’s authoring component, irAuthor,
provides a rich, embeddable rule authoring and testing environment.
“We applaud MortgageFlex’s
commitment to providing state-of-the-art lending solutions. LoanQuest .NET is an outstanding example of
the convergence of SOA, powerful rules technology and the .NET framework,” said
Paul Hessinger, chief executive officer of InRule Technology. “We built InRule to be embeddable and to
enable dynamic decisioning. We’re
pleased that MortgageFlex is leveraging its capabilities to create software
that is easier to deploy and maintain and has the flexibility to adapt to changing
regulatory and market requirements – it helps keep MortgageFlex in their
innovation leadership position.”
InRule
provides everything needed to author, store and manage, integrate, and execute
rules without custom development. InRule provides Dynamic Decisioning –
giving business decision makers control over the rules, logic, and calculations
at the heart of essential operations, resulting in flexible applications that
change to meet changing business requirements.
Unlike
many other BREs, InRule is designed
to be easily embedded, whether part of in-house applications, packaged
software applications, or custom solutions.
Reduced maintenance
costs
The
LoanQuest .NET platform utilizes a foundation of service-oriented architecture,
business rules, and common development frameworks including Windows Workflow
Foundation (WF), Windows Communications Foundation (WCF) and Windows Presentation
Foundation (WPF). This design architecture reduces historically fragmented
maintenance costs, exception handling, administration, and user errors.
By
utilizing a combination of business rules and workflow, lenders are able to
build rules that are unique to the organization and drive compliance via
workflow.
Dominick
says the advanced database accessibility “means companies large or small can
enjoy the counter-cyclical benefits available during lean origination times.
Users of any of our LoanQuest products can share access to the latest customer
account and contact information, promoting cross-sell opportunities.”
