MortgageFlex User Meeting Highlights Agile Philosophy

New Format Reflects Changing Times

                Jacksonville, Fla. (October 20, 2008) – MortgageFlex Systems, Inc. hosted its annual User Meeting this season with a new twist to reflect the agile philosophy that strengthens the company’s entire infrastructure.

                The agile approach, used for years in MortgageFlex’s development of software, promotes a true team atmosphere with:

·         Close, daily cooperation between business people and developers;

·         Continuous attention to technical excellence and good design;

·         Regular adaptation to changing circumstances.

                Normally the User Meeting is held at a 4-star resort with two days of dual session meetings and nightly entertainment, a costly event to stage and to attend. The new format featured a one-day meeting with single deliveries.

        “Due to the state of the industry, we felt it was more important than ever to host a User Meeting,” stated Lester Dominick, president, MortgageFlex Systems, Inc. “We realized that everyone’s budget belts have been tightened, including ours, so we decided to make it as cost effective as possible.”

                One of the hottest sessions addressed migration strategies for the LoanQuest NET™ Loan Origination System. LoanQuest.NET is a completely rewritten version of the industry leading LoanQuest Windows LOS system and features Microsoft’s .NET™ 3.5 framework.

This latest version offers lenders a combination of Microsoft Workflow Foundation, service-oriented architecture (SOA) and a business rules engine (BRE) to deliver a new dynamic level of automation.

“.NET™‘s open technology will allow our customers to develop their own functions and incorporate them into LoanQuest themselves using standard development tools,” said Craig Bechtle, chief operating officer, MortgageFlex.

        MortgageFlex will be working with any customer that wishes to convert to .NETÔ to determine their individual requirements and offer an appropriate conversion option. The upgrade to .NETÔ will be free for all existing clients.

Making the most of what you have

                General session highlights included:

§         The past year’s system enhancements, including the latest FHA requirements,

§         The advantages of a hosted solution in a SAS 70 II environment,

§         How to make the most of what you’ve got, with business process reviews and a best practices discussion.

Business process reviews are becoming increasingly popular as lenders are looking for process improvement areas and ways to reduce internal inefficiencies. MortgageFlex professional services staff reviews the internal process and illustrates system capabilities about which the lender may be unaware.

Typically lenders only use a fraction of a LOS’ capabilities and these daily activities become entrenched as the “standard” process. A process review by a systems consultant usually results in usage recommendations of underutilized system features and evokes comments such as, “Wow, it can do that?  We had no idea.”

Changing times

“Planning this year’s agenda was challenging,” commented Joyce Saunders, director of marketing, MortgageFlex. “Everyone is faced with budget concerns and time restrictions, so it’s important to provide them a valuable experience.”

                MortgageFlex solved travel and lodging cost issues by planning well in advance and allowing attendees to select their own lodging. This proved to be a wise course with approximately 50% of the customer base attending.

                “The new format was overwhelmingly successful. Many of our customers remarked that it was very economical for them and they appreciated our flexibility. The single track delivery also allowed our customers to get to know each other better and to share lessons learned and best practices,” Saunders concluded.
